When Derek decided to rebrand the business and expand beyond the work it had originally started with, he wanted a name that would still mean something years from now. While talking through ideas with his dad and sister, his sister suggested choosing something personally meaningful.
The name Eleven17 came from family. Derek's daughter was born in 2011, his son in 2017, and Derek's own birthday is November 17.
What started as a simple naming idea became a reminder of why the business matters in the first place: building something worthwhile, doing work to be proud of, and creating something that supports the people who matter most.
